Luma's Luxury Organic Bedding

Alison Satasi of Luma Bedding wrote in to share her freshly launched luxury organic bedding collection with FG Readers. The vision for Luma was borne from frustration in not being able to find organic textiles for her own home.

Handspun and woven pashmina wool blankets
, £375.00

Indian silk throw, £125.00

Hand-embroidered cot blanket, £70.00

The Fab Factor: Luma’s bed linens, towels and cotton blankets are made using Skal-certified organic cotton (a Dutch organization). Wool is recycled from factory waste, and soap dishes she sells have been refashioned from recycled tires. Luma works only with certified fair trade suppliers whose facilities she’s personally toured (read about them in her About the People section of the Luma site. Many of them have been leaders in fair trade for 20 years. Products are packaged using recycled paper.

Extra Fab Props: We typically give designers an eco-questionnaire to fill out to determine the extent of their eco-friendly practices. Alison sent back a DISSERTATION on Luma’s practices and goals. Now that’s passion!

Thanks Alison!
